Aleksandra Kijanović acquired her Primary and Secondary education in “Kosta Manojlović“ Music School in Zemun. She graduted with honours, as the best student of her generation. She finished her B.A. studies in the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, in class of the professor Nemanja Marijanović, and finished her M.A. studies in the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, in class of the professor Panta Veličković.
She was constantly improving her skills as a soloist or a member of different chamber ensembles in various masterclasses: at professor Karin Wolf, Gilad Karni, Nora Romanoff–Schwarzberg, Jorg Winkler, Manhattan quartet, Brodsky quartet. She was also a member of the Youth Jeneussemovingorchestra, MIO Youth Symphonic orchestra in Ljubljana and Branimir Slokar Academy in Ljubljana.
As a member of the Vollmond string quartet, she improved her skills in some of the largest international seminars for chamber music such as Zeist MusicDays (Netherlands) и ProQuaret (France). In 2018, they performed in Festival Ljubljana as part of the project Music Up Close Network that was organized by Triple bridge, European Career Center for artists.
She made numerous appearances, from which these are the ones that can be singled out: ”Take over” season opening in the gallery of Kolarac Endowmnet, Festival Front, the VII and VIII Festival of String Players in Perast, The Mediterranean theater festival “Purgatory” in Tivat, Festival of Contemporary Music in Novi Sad, Student’s Festival of Faculties of Arts, Student’s Festival of Composition, Festival Operosa, Festival Convivium Musicum in Kragujevac, performance within the series of Promenade concerts in Kolarac, Musicology Belgrade 2020: Shaping the Present by the Future organized by SASA Institute of Musicology, Jazz Festival Moers (Germany), Festival KotorArt, festival Constantinus in Niš, Belgrade Jazz Festival, International Festival of Harp.
She is a member: of the ensemble Ljubljana International orchestra, of Zemun Chamber orchestra, of Muzikon Chamber orchestra, of Ars-industrija ensemble, of Chamber ensemble of the opera “Children” by Irena Popović in The National theatre, of Muzikon Quartet.
Since 2016, she has been working as a professor of viola and chamber music in “Kosta Manojlović“ Music School in Zemun. She is a perennial award winner from the school fund for her exceptional success in art, as well as her pedagogical work at “Kosta Manojlović“ Music School. Also, she won the Zemun municipality annual award for results achieved in competitions and awards for the best pedagogue in the international competition “Talents for Europe“ in Slovakia. During her pedagogical work so far, her students have achieved numerous results in various competitions and continued their schooling in prestigious faculties. She was a member of the jury of the 23rd “Dušan Protić” memorial in 2023.
